What Transfers From EasyWorship to ProPresenter (And What Doesn't)

The single most common surprise in a worship software switch: your songs can move, but your look can't. Here's the realistic picture, so your team plans the migration weekend correctly.

The short version

Comes with you

  • Song titles
  • Complete lyrics
  • Verse / chorus / bridge / tag structure
  • Author and copyright text stored with songs
  • Your whole library, however large

Stays behind

  • Backgrounds, motion loops, and media
  • Fonts, colors, and slide themes
  • Per-slide custom formatting
  • Schedules / service orders
  • Scripture displays and media bins

Why the look doesn't transfer

EasyWorship and ProPresenter render slides in fundamentally different ways. A "theme" in one has no equivalent structure in the other, so no conversion method (free or paid) carries visual design across. This is actually fine in practice: churches switch to ProPresenter partly for its templates. You build one look there, apply it to your whole imported library, and everything is instantly consistent, often more consistent than the old library was.

What this means for your migration plan

Keep EasyWorship installed and untouched until at least a few services have run smoothly on ProPresenter. A working fallback is worth more than a clean uninstall.

The part worth paying attention to: verse structure

Titles and lyrics survive almost any method. Verse structure (which lines are Verse 1, which are the chorus, where the bridge sits) is what separates a clean migration from weeks of cleanup, because it drives how slides break and how your operator jumps around during the set. Copy-paste loses it every time. The free OpenLP route keeps it partially, with re-tagging needed. Conversion services keep it as their core promise; it's the main thing you're paying for.
